Hey all, my name's Chris Haigh. I'm 29 and been powerlifting now for about 5 years. I usually compete in the APF in the 275's. I made my first Elite total in 2008. At my last meet in March in Illinois, I totaled 2149 (about a 100 lb PR) with a 755 squat, 705 bench press, and 688 deadlift (all PR's) weighing 253. I'm currently in the Air Force stationed in Alaska, so finding good training partners is always a chore, but I'm getting by.

Next meet's the Summer Bash in Chicago on June 27. Looking to learn and for feedback on my training from other Elite lifters. I post quite a bit on the Bad Attitude Gym forum, and video quite a bit of my training, so that should make seeing what I do much easier.

5/30 Saturday - Squats (Circa Max Week 1)

Close Grip Lat Pulldowns: 4x15 to the whole stack

Box Squats
Raw: 45/12
Add Choked Blue Bands (~250 lbs tension): 45/8
Add Choked Green Bands (~375 lbs tension): 45/5
Add Choked Purple Bands (~440 lbs tension total): 45/5
Add 44 Metal Viking Briefs: 135/3
Add Belt: 225/2 x 2 sets
Add Inzer Leviathan, straps down: 315/2 x 4 sets, 365/1 (PR)

GHR: bw/12, 20/12, 40/12, bw/12
GHR Situps holding weight behind head: bw/12, 15/12, 35/15, 10/15

**First week of circa max. Worked up to blues, greens, and purples, and then started adding bar weight and gear from there. Definitely the most tension I've ever used before, and it really took me out of my comfort zone. I had a much more difficult time staying tight and maintaining good form with the high band tension. But this is the kind of training I need right now to give my squat a boost. Finished the day with 9 reps above 750 lbs, and my hamstrings are feeling it. Looking forward to next week's session.

6/12 Friday - Extra

Side Db Raises: 5x12 to 40's

Your training is looking great. Do a deadlift or a movement for the deadlift every week.

Thanks Mark. I usually do unless I'm feeling beat up, in which case I'll still pull, but then it's lighter for speed. I need to start adding good mornings back into the mix on a more ergular basis.

6/13 Saturday - Deload Squats

Underhand Grip Lat Pulldowns: 3x15
GHR: 3x6

Free Squats
Raw: 45/10 x 2 sets, 145/5 x 2 sets, 235/5 x 2 sets, 325/3
Add 44 Metal Viking Briefs: 325/5
Add Belt: 415/5 x 2 sets
Add Frantz TP5000 Knee Wraps: 515/5 **very easy and explosive

GHR with back of bench elevated 6 in: bw/12, 15/12, 25/12, bw/12 **much harder with the back elevated
Leg Press Calf Raises: 4x12,12,12,15 to 470
Leg Raises against bands: bw/15, 1 mini/15, 2 minis/20, bw/20

**As is the norm for me, I deloaded today with some light free squats in briefs after a heavy band phase. All the squats felt very easy and explosive. I wore loose knee wraps on my last set to get used to them again since I haven't worn them in about a month. Next week I'll work a little heavier in full gear to get the feel of the suit again, and then it's on to the meet.
