I train at North Georgia Barbell in Kennesaw, GA. My training partner is Jon Grove and other NGBB members. I am 36 and have been lifting for 3 years.
I will be posting my training log here as I prepare for the APF Seniors in June and the USPF Nationals in July and then on into the future.
I think I have a logical approach to my training as my philosophy is make your weakness a strength and then find a new weakness.
I also spend time working with other lifters from the area to help them out with everything from gear to technique. I have been working with Sam Byrd for the last year on his road to 1100lbs squat.
I hope my logs can be helpful and give you an insite to me as I increase my strength and hopefully make myself better on the platform.

135x5
225x3
275x3
275x3+40lbs chain
275x3+80lbs chain
275x3+120lbs chain
275x3+160lbs chain PR! this was hard!
raw benchpresses with boards

405x1 1brds pause-very easy
APT APEX 2 shirt test
500x1 2brd very easy
Good day for floor presses, some easy PR's and some work in the APEX. I will use the APT APEX shirt for the USPF Nationals. Overall good day with no problems finishing the sets and weights, I will stay on the course to not miss a weight. Next floor presses will be 315x2 with up to 120lbs in chain. APEX shirt will be used for 500lbs off 1brd to keep breaking it in.

Thanks for the welcome.
Man the Tim Bruner thing travels!LOL!
I'm training to do my best and that should beat Tim... And it would be nice to get him to shut up, but that may just be a pipe dream. I figure I need to squat 770-804, this should be no problem. bench 550-560, again no problem and DL 650-670, this too should be no problem. I want to just go 2000lbs my first meet. Tim never has and never will get 2000lbs in a meet, so this would really burn his ass!

squat day-this is a hybrid training as I am preparing for APF Seniors and USPF Nationals
squats
165x3 walk out
165x3 monolift
275x3 mono
385x3 walk out
496x1 mono
606x1 mono
694x1 walkout/briefs and knee wraps
http://www.ironscene...tt_694lbs_squat
826x1 mono/Frantz canvas+knee wrpas
826x1+120lbs chain full gear
http://www.ironscene...for_apf_seniors
rack pulls
245x3
335x2
425x1
525x3
I am walking out and using monolift to prepar fore both meets simultaneously. I also used less gear by going in single-ply briefs and the old Frantz suit, I feel very comfortable in that suit and may use it at Seniors. My Leviathon/Ace combo is almost too tight to get into it at my current bodyweight. This should be interesting....

accessory day
hammer strength bench
2x15 1 plate
machine pec deck
2x15
behind neck pull downs
3x15
chest supported rows
3x15
scott curls
3x20 1/2 reps/pump set
hammer curls
3x15
I hope this training nights will add some more muscle and help recover from the heavy workouts. If I feel they are hurting my progress, I will drop them.

Bench night
raw
135x5
225x5
315x1
405x1
495x1 3brd
shirt(2ply)
635x1 2.5brd
690x1 2brd PR!
585x1 1brd
a lot of good lifts tonight. The 405lbs raw off the chest was new sort of PR, it was a touch and go but with no heave or cheat(ass up). The 690 off 2brd was a 10lbs PR but was really hard(a grinder). Overall, not a bad night PR's are always good.

yes that is my son and I'm very proud of him. He trained really hard this offseason for football and gained 40lbs of bodyweight. In the video he squats 231 benches 148 and pulls 303, this was a big day for him as he loves to pull! Thank you for the compliment as he will really appreciate it, especially from you, he watches all of your videos.

Mark, Thanks for the help with my squats, I'm transitioning over and the suit is very loose so I got sloppy. You are right, I got over my knees bad, but it's a work in progress. I will continue to put videos up and any advice would be greatly appreciated. I still have 8 training weeks to get it right and with a little help I will get my goal of 804lbs.
Tyler asked me to thank you guys for your words of encouragement. Next he wants a 400lbs pull before he turns 14. Mark, he loved the comment about just lifting and forget football, but after the last three spring practice session where he is flat out killing people, I think it will be hard to get him to stop. He will keep lifting, he has seen where he has gained a clear advantage in strength and size. He wanted to know if you think being 190-200lbs by 14 is too much?
Thanks again for the help and encouragement!

Hi Glenn. Is a whole bunch of your team coming down to the APF seniors in June? I know a lot of the folks on my team (Tampa Barbell) know y'all from a couple years back. I think we got one or two lifters competing there, but I think quite a few of us are going to drive down and watch.

At this time there are about 5 from NGBB that will be there including myself. Jon and Tommy go way back to training partners when Tommy went to GT in Atlanta, we have gotten to know a lot of the TBB guys over the last 2-3 years, especially at the Intramurals last year.
Who will be competing from TBB? I was hoping Greg would, we had a good battle at Southern States 2 years ago. I look forward to seeing you guys and will probably stop by TBB in a week or two..
