Motivation

I used to think if you even thought about motivation that it was already too late. I thought motivation was for pussies…..Now I still feel this way to a certain extent. However I have been enlightened. I been in some serious deep thought lately. Not as deep of thought as Ricky William was……Remember that shit? Ricky was the best running back in the NFL and he left to go do yoga, smoke pot and think. That’s some serious deep thought! But I have been thinking about the people I encounter and how we as people are shaped and molded. Confidence and motivation ended for me when I stepped in to a class room. I can’t even describe to people how lost I was at times. Well when you already suck at something and you have bad experiences how good does that make you feel? Not very good right? What would your overall mind set be. Would that shit rattle you and suck any motivation that you may have had right out of your bones. Well, that was me! Homework would routinely take 3-4 hours and even one occasion made my dad cry, because he just didn’t know how to help me. Through it all my mom and dad and even my older brothers stuck by my side as I struggled but never gave up. That became the main thing was effort, fuck the actual grade let’s just always make sure we try. Ok, hopefully you fucking guys haven’t fallen a sleep yet….You still with me because I’m about to have a point here I promise. Maybe some people feel lost in the gym or lost with there diet as I did in the class room. Maybe they never built any self confidence? Weather it be your diet, a math test, conference call,  quarterly meeting, public speaking, lifting, or whatever so much of your success will be contingent upon your motivation and confidence. With out confidence there is no motivation and without some motivation you will never have the chance to build confidence. My confidence came from being an athlete and taking great pride in the things I was good at and the things I like to do. My high school still talks about how I was the strongest kid to ever go through the school. That is very Poke High Al Bundy of me but that kind of shit makes me feel great because I trained myself to be that strong also both my older brothers went to the same school. Those kinds of things are building blocks and they can lead to more confidence and motivation building. But ultimately my confidence and motivation came from my parents always being there for me. Not everyone has that reinforcement and that’s what I’m starting to realize and understand. If you grew up with shit parents or great parents find stuff that can help you build confidence and build your own self motivation.
Motivation doesn’t always need to come from within. Sometimes it comes from a mentor or a friend. Strength training is cool because you can build and build infinitely, you can get a little leaner, a little bigger, a little stronger week in and week out. Of course there will be set backs but the opportunity for self improvement awaits you every time you set foot in the gym.Motivation can come in the way of music, youtube clips, pornhub….oh wait that’s a different type of motivation. A motivational speech from William Wallace or Rocky Balboa can make you feel ready to run through a brick wall. Keep in mind “the first guy through the wall always gets bloody!” Figure out what drives you, figure out how to get the most out of yourself, you owe it to yourself while you still have your strength and health to train like a champion. If you never trained like a champion how will you ever know your not cut out to be one? A champion doesn’t fear change or pain they embrace it as just part of the way shit is. How far and how hard are you willing to push? Will you start to sleep more so you can recover? Will you start to prepare your meals for the entire week so your feeding your body with the fuel of a champion? If you don’t plan ahead you plan to fail! Let the losers eat french fries and soda, you are on a mission and you can’t be waisting your time. It takes a lot to be good and it takes everything you got to be great!
As a side note still to this day I am motivated by my mom and dad. My dad is out of the hospital as of today and all you peeps that need your taxes done look out because “Loop Hole” Sheldon is on the loose and he’s going to do your taxes whether you like it or not. My mom stood right by my dads side as he spent over 60 straight days in the hospital and nearly died! My pops is on the road to recovery and I want to thank everyone from coast to coast for all the support!
